Killian was born and raised in the west suburbs of Chicago. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Forensic Chemistry from Western Illinois University in May 2019. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, where she is advised by Prof. Patel.

Killian's research focuses on studying the Seebeck effect in ion-conducting polymers.
