Siqi received her BS in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Rice University in 2017. At Rice, she worked with Dr. Matteo Pasquali on fabricating and characterizing macromolecular structures of carbon nanotubes. After that, she joined the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering and has worked with Dr. Matthew Tirrell since the beginning of 2018.

Areas of research expertise:

  • Structural and rheological study on polyelectrolyte complex (PEC)
  • PEC phase transition
  • PEC phase diagram construction
  • Hydrophobicity effect on PEC properties

Siqi's research focuses on how the properties of polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) change as they transfer between solid and liquid states. Specifically, she is investigating the structure, rheological response, and phase diagram of PECs. In addition, she is interested in how the phase transition can be controlled by solvent environment, salt type, and temperature.
