Sohee received her BS in Applied Chemistry from Kyungpook National University. She obtained a PhD in environmental science and engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), South Korea. In her PhD, she was interested in interfacial science and surface chemistry. She used the surface forces apparatus (SFA) in her research and focused on understanding underwater molecular interactions. In 2022, she joined Matt Tirrell’s group as a postdoctoral appointee at Argonne National Laboratory to study the molecular behavior of polyelectrolyte brushes in an aqueous environment.
