I born and brought up in Kolkata, a city of West Bengal, India also known as a “City of Joy”. I did my Bachelor in Science (B.Sc) with a specialization in Chemistry and Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) and Masters in Technology (M.Tech) in Polymer Science and Technology from University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India.
After working as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in a reputed Tire manufacturing company for 2 years, I came back to academia and received my Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP) in the year of 2019 before joining as a Postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Chicago in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Matthew V. Tirrell and Dr. Wei Chen.
My doctoral study laid the foundation for the synthesis of tailor-made functional polymers, especially ionic polymers by the reversible deactivation radical polymerization (RDRP) and their biomedical applications including drug delivery and designing of antifouling surfaces. During my Ph.D., I got great opportunities to visit University of Bradford, UK and University of Aachen, Germany as a visiting research scholar. My postdoctoral work encompasses the areas of designing transparent thermochromic window glazing material, synthesis of poly(ionic liquid)s and their applications in circular economy, and fabrication of low power 3D CMOS circuits. My hobbies include painting, photography, reading science fiction and detective books, and cooking.
