Jon Babi is a postdoctoral scholar in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, co-advised by Profs. Matthew V. Tirrell and Yun Fang. Jon completed his PhD at the University of Toronto, working on biomimetic self-assembling polymers in Prof. Helen Tran's group. During his doctoral studies, Jon undertook a research fellowship at the Molecular Foundry in Lawrence Berkley National Labs, developing AFM techniques for characterizing peptoid-based materials. Jon joined the Tirrell and Fang groups in Spring 2026.
Jon's research is focused on developing novel polymer architectures to improve the delivery and efficacy of nanoparticles for the treatment of cardiovascular disease.
