Erin Wallace
Operations Specialist, Materials for Sustainability
Erin Wallace provides high-level administrative oversight for Materials faculty, including updating project plans, timelines, coordinating resources, and assisting with financial and logistics support. She independently manages a diverse range of tasks to coordinate the unit’s day-to-day operations, special events, and seminars.
Prior to joining the University of Chicago Erin was the executive assistant to the senior vice president and director of IIT Research Institute, where she initiated software integrations and customizations and redesigned the corporate intranet site. The assistant to the vice president for research at Northwestern University for over a decade, Erin arranged complex engagement opportunities, managing events and communications, budgets, surveys, and live multi-site town halls, while providing day-to-day support to sponsored research, compliance, and development constituents. Erin was the pre-award and post-award program administrator for a $2M Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) award to the university.
Erin received a Master of Science Communication from Northwestern University in 2019, focusing on visual communications and the U.S. healthcare system and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California at Berkeley with studies in post-colonialist literature.
Rachel Johnson
Institute Administrator, Materials for Sustainability
Rachel Johnson assists with planning, coordinating, and managing daily operational and business needs of the Institute. She supports operational projects, day-to-day procurement and finance operations including liaising with internal and external constituencies and stakeholders.
Rachel has been with the University of Chicago for over two years working in research administration, events, and supporting operations activities. Prior to moving to Chicago, she was a Museum Educator at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art where she supported artist lectures and events. She holds a Masters in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
Ammon R. Johnson
Institute Manager, Immuno
Ammon R. Johnson serves as the Institute Manager for the Immuno Institute where he provides administrative strategy as well as operational and financial support for faculty, students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Ammon holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Southern Illinois University and 15 years of higher education experience, with previous roles at Northwestern University, University of Chicago, City Colleges of Chicago and Purdue University.
Eileen Walsh-Rock
Grant Development Administrator, Immuno
Eileen Walsh-Rock serves as the Grant Development Administrator for the Immuno Institute. Eileen is responsible for the planning, writing, and execution of PME grants and related reports, assisting PME faculty in building their funding portfolios and developing strong grant proposals to support existing and emerging project/program initiatives for the Biological/Immuno theme.
Eileen has a background in biomedical engineering research and research project management, with previous positions including Northwestern and Harvard. Eileen holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and is currently pursuing a Masters in Epidemiology.
Stefanie Rothman White
Institute Administrator, Chicago Quantum Institute
Stefanie Rothman White serves as PME Quantum Institute Administrator, implementing operations and programs and providing a broad range of administrative services for faculty, postdoctoral fellows, PhD students and staff. She is an experienced higher-education leader with numerous years in academic administration, strategic planning, and cross-campus collaboration at the University of Chicago. Over her career, she has led initiatives that strengthen research, teaching, and public engagement, developed sustainable administrative systems, and built partnerships across disciplines. She holds a BA with Honors from the University of Michigan and completed the Emerging Program for Executive Leaders at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
