Yan received her BS in chemical engineering from Northwestern University in 2019. At Northwestern, she worked with Prof. Julia Kalow on synthesizing novel photo switches and associative dynamic crosslinking in acrylic diblock copolymers. After that, she joined the Tirrell group, working on charge density’s effect on polyelectrolyte complexes.
