Jess Bass

Jess Bass holds an MFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and a BA from Hampshire College. As the Program Assistant for Northeastern Illinois University's Art + Design Department, she launched and managed the Visiting Artist Residency, a university-wide Portfolio Day, a recurring lecture series, an annual community open house, cross-institutional partnerships with The Other Art Fair, and created a budget management system adopted by the larger College of Arts & Sciences. As the Community Coordinator for the Sculpture Department at SAIC, she oversaw student-focused events and community initiatives, organizing studio visits and lectures with Chicago-based and internationally recognized artists, and managed records, calendars, and digital communications. As operations specialist for the PME Chicago Quantum Institute, Jess supports its day-to-day operations, administration, and programming.

Jess is also a curator and artist whose work has been exhibited at local, national, and international venues and featured in The New York Times, Hyperallergic, ArtNews, PASTE, Fader and MTV.
