Dean-On-Call & UChicago Help

UChicago HELP is comprised of the Dean-on-Call program, the Sexual Assault Dean On-Call program, the Bias Education and Support Team (BEST), Student Case Management, and High-Profile Events.

The Dean-on-Call is the University official responsible for providing referrals, information, and support to students during an emergency. The Dean-on-Call intervenes at times to de-escalate a situation between students and other members of the campus and/or community and works with university resources and offices to coordinate the University’s response to ensure students receive due consideration and fair treatment. The Dean-on-Call will monitor an incident to make sure that adequate support continues even after the incident passes.

UChicago HELP provides a continuum of care and comprehensive services to holistically support students that may be experiencing difficulties. Through various services, they educate on University policy, liaise between on and off campus resources, and assist students in finding their own voice. UChicago HELP is a consultative resource to the University community in responding to student needs and concerns.

Students can download the UChicago Safe App on their smartphones for easy access to all UChicago HELP resources.
